Thankful

As I check my daily reading of blogs today I can't help but stop and think how THANKFUL I am! I am Thankful for so many things in my life....but at this very Moment I am so very Thankful that Crawford is so Healthy! That we are able to do all that we have with him and more and that he is just in the other room sleeping so peacefully in his own crib! There are so many sick children that I read about! They break my heart! I wish there was something I could do. Little Tuesday's story broke my heart and for sure touched and changed my life. And now Stellan, there isn't a day that goes by that I am not wanting to know an update on him! You can read about both of them from the link to the right of my blog. I am sure many of you already do! It's stories like these that make those little temper tantrums and back arching perfectly fine! The food throwing and hair pulling, I easily forget when I read these stories! These women are so strong and I always wonder if I could be that strong, I hope I never have to find out!
I am Thankful for so much but today I am Thankful for Health!!!!!!

No Where to be Found...

This morning while we were getting ready for church, I left Crawford in his room to play. We normally do since it's across from ours, we can basically see what he is doing and he will run back and forth from our room to his. Well, I was peaking in to make sure he was OK and he was not there, I went down the hall and this is where I found him. I snapped this picture before he ever saw me! He climbed up on the chair and was typing away!! I guess he sees me doing it so much he decided to do it himself.

3 Generations and a Hat

Jacob with his Grandfather Doby and Crawford wearing his Great Grandfather Doby's Hat!
Nancy watched Crawford this afternoon while I got a few things done. She said he ran up to the hat and pointed to it. She captured these great pictures of him wearing it around the house. He loves hats!

Jacob Says this is Blog Worthy!

Jacob never really gives any input as to what I should or should not put on the blog. But he told me this picture was blog worthy! Crawford's driving Daddy's Jeep. It was cold yesterday when we got home, Jacob and I were freezing and everytime we tried to remove Crawford from the Jeep he would scream and pitch a fit!
I promise I have several new post, including Crawford in his Easter Outfit, Weekend with Mimi, and playing with Ella....hope to post them in the next few days! We are busy busy busy!!!

Visit with the Taylors!

On Saturday Crawford, Mimi and I went to see our Friends Cory, Mandy and Ella. Crawford and Ella have not played in a few months so it was really good to be able to get them together!! All I can say is "Wow" Ella can talk!! She is so funny. She is two months older than Crawford but she refers to him as a baby!! Typical Girl!! :-) I told Crawford to just get used to it!! I think they had a great time. Crawford had a cucumber there for the first time. I didn't think he would like them but he loved them and has been hooked ever since! Thanks Cory!!
Below are a few pictures of them playing!

Visit with Great Mimi (G-Mi)

Crawford and I took off on Friday and headed to Hickory to see Mimi. Jacob went to Ryan's Bachelor party. On Friday we drove to Asheville to see G-Mi(that stands for Great Mimi for the moment). Not really sure what Crawford will call her but for now we are going with G-Mi. We had a great visit. She lives in a retirement home. Everyone there loved Crawford. One lady grabbed his hand and walked off with him and would not let go. I about died!!! I am serious she walked all the way down the hall before I could get her to let go. Crawford just walked along with her holding her hand even though I was yanking his other hand and trying to hold him back!! After our visit, we went to meet my Aunt and Uncle for what should have been a great dinner, however Mr. Crawford was not having it. He finished his meal before we even had our salad, needless to say, I did not eat!! :-) We did enjoy the time we had with them and hope they will still come eat with us next time! :-)
Crawford peaking around G-Mi's Wheel Chair. He loves to play with it. She doesn't really like him to.

Sweet Crawford trying to help out!

Crawford thinks he is talking on the phone, but it is really her electric chair control! He would say "Hello"..."Bye"...and throw it down, then pick it back up and do it all over again.

18 Months Check-Up

18 Months has brought a lot of hard work but the most rewarding feeling in the world! We love the 18 month stage! Today was Crawford 18 Month Check-Up with Dr. Paynter! It went great! The hardest part was weighing him! I don't know why except for the fact that I schedule his appointment right during his nap time by mistake!! I think we scared everyone out of the doctors office. Our sweet nurse didn't know what to think. After trying to weigh him on the baby scale and then the big scale, I finally had to stand on the scale with him and then weigh my self so we could get his weight.
His Stats are: Head 19 1/4 (57%) Weight 25 lbs.(39%), and Length 32 1/2 in.(80%)
12 Teeth (6 of them came in the last 2 months)
After Crawford calmed down Dr. Paynter came in and answered our million questions. He is so good! He said Crawford was perfect and right on track! Crawford showed him all of his tricks. He had two shots that he only cried a few seconds for. Nothing like he cried at the scales! :-)
We packed up and as we were walking out Crawford told the nurse "Tank Choo" and blew her a kiss!
Crawford is growing up so fast! He keeps us busy and on our toes! We are saying a lot of No's and Starting to use Time out but we are also having so much fun! It is so rewarding to see him develop and learn new things each day! He gives the best hugs without us even asking these days. As I was chasing him down this morning to get dressed I was becoming a little frustrated! He thinks its funny and a game! It used to be funny but not so much anymore, especially when we are running late! After I got him dressed he leaned over and reached for me for a big hug and kiss and a big smile on his face! I could have just ate him up!! So Sweet!
Some of his favorite things are riding his jeep, bubbles, stacking blocks, dancing , reading books, Elmo, Blue's Clues, Molly (our dog), Playing outside, His Blanket, did I say bubbles??, coloring and eating the crayon, sweeping, his red fire car, and Baths! These are just a few of his favorite things!
He understands most things we tell him to do and he answers yes and no(sometimes) when we ask him a question. He loves his high-chair, I think b/c he knows he can eat in it! :-) He runs over to it and says up..up..up until we put him in. Then he signs and says more until we give him something to eat. When he drinks he makes a sigh when he is done like umm that was good. If he his eating something he really likes he will say umm while he eats and if he doesn't won't something (usually veggies) he will take one look and throw it on the floor. We are working on that!
He can find most animals we ask him to find in books and toys. He loves to put shapes in the shape ball and he is starting to count! He knows where all of his body parts are and I mean ALL! :-) He loves to shoot his basketball and has really taken to his golf clubs! He makes this really excited noise when he swings and hits something (not necessary the ball).
Crawford says hello(ello) and Bye every where we go! He always blows kisses when he says bye! If we are in a parking lot he tells people in their cars bye even though they cannot see or hear him. Sometimes he even tells his stuffed animals bye when we leave his room. The other night he told the bath toys bye! He is so sweet! At school when I tell him to tell Molly bye he won't just say bye, he runs over to her and gives her a big hug! He gives the boys high fives! Too Cute!
We are so lucky and could not ask for more. He is the love of our life!
Here's to the next 18 Months!!!
We Love You Crawford!!!

Finally Riding the 4 Wheeler

Crawford has been scared of the 4 wheeler ever since Poppy and Grammy gave it to him for Christmas. He finally got past the noise it makes and decided to hop on it this morning and go for a ride!

Children's Museum

On Saturday Crawford and I met some friends at the Children's Museum in Greensboro! Crawford had so much fun! He was all over the place. We saw so many things we did not see on our first trip! I could not get a picture of the kids together, I could not even get a picture of any two looking at the camera at the same time!

Happy 18 Months Crawford!

How can Crawford already be 18 Months? Didn't we just have his 1 Year Birthday Party!! Wow! Where does the time go?? Today I took Crawford over to Jacob's parents house! We had a great time playing and dressing Crawford in Jacob's old outfits! Below are some pictures of Crawford in the same outfit Jacob had his 18 month pictures made in! I will scan his 18 Month picture sometime this week and post it! They look so much alike! The picture beside Crawford is Jacob at 18 months.

An 18 Month Update will be coming this week!

Beautiful and Busy Weekend

We had a busy but beautiful weekend! Crawford attended his first baby shower and I think he enjoyed it! He ate lots of food, met a girl and had every ones attention! I think he liked all of the above!!
Below is a picture of him enjoying his food and his new friend!

Mommy and Crawford

Daddy and Crawford before Golf

After the shower the men played golf. I left to go visit a very sweet friend of mine. Kathryn and I went to College together. We had fun catching up while the kids took naps! She is such a good mommy and her kids are great! I am sorry I did not get any pictures of the kids together!! I will have to next time! Below is a picture of sweet Cole and Kathryn in the background. I didn't get any of Miss Emma! After Crawford's nap, Kathryn and Crawford and I snuck off to Birkdale Village. We had a great time and even made a few small purchases!!

Crawford and I went to the park while waiting on Jacob to finish golf! He had so much fun and pitched the biggest fit when it was time to leave! All the moms at the park were looking at me. It was really really embarrassing! You would have thought I was doing something terrible to him! I could not find my car keys so I sat him down for one second and he took off as fast as he could back to the park! Other than that little incident we had so much fun and he was such a great boy for being gone all day and only having a 45 min. nap!

Stay Tuned for Crawford's 18 Month Update...I can't believe it has been 18 Months!!

Happy Birthday DaDa!

Happy Birthday Jacob! We LOVE you all the way up to the Moon and Back! As they say in one of our favorite books, "Guess How Much I Love You".
Today was Jacob's Birthday! Crawford woke up after he left today and instantly was looking all over the house for him. Yelling DaDa...DaDa. All the way to school he called for him and when I picked him up he continued to yell his name all the way home!! Jacob took the day off to go skiing! He is loves to ski and has not really been able to go to much in the past few years! He is really really good and I could never keep up with him! He plans to have Crawford on Skies next year!
We celebrated Jacob's Birthday on Sunday because Grammy (Jacob's mom) was going to the beach this week! We had a little birthday dinner tonight with Poppy, Jacob, Crawford and I. We had Spaghetti (Jacob's favorite) and for those of you who know Jacob you would never believe I have him hooked on Turkey Spaghetti! :-) We had Chocolate Chip Cookies instead of Birthday Cake because Jacob does not like cake! WHO doesn't like birthday cake! I would have bought one but knew that I would eat the entire thing by myself! We had a great time and Crawford had Poppy (or Pop Pop as Crawford says) doing laps around the house!
Crawford and Daddy. I had to capture one picture and Crawford was not in the sit still mood!

100% Crawford's Idea

Crawford has been really interested in shoes lately! He made Grammy take off her shoes at least a 1/2 dozen times the other night. Well tonight he kept bringing them to me and making the same noise he always makes when he wants something. So I put him down in the boots and he thought it was so funny! He would try to walk and fall down. Then he would want to do it all over again! So of course I had to capture it on camera!!

A few updates!

I am happy to announce (but nervous that it will break the cycle) Crawford has slept through the night since last Saturday!!! We woke him up at 11 for 4 nights, he slept through never waking crying and now we have stopped waking him up and he continues to sleep through the night. Fingers crossed it will continue. So for now the night terrors are gone!

My grandmother is home and doing better. She is still have speech problems from the stroke and swallowing but she is doing better. I am praying that she will fully recover!! I will be taking Crawford to see her in a few weeks to cheer her up!

A Very Fun SNOW Day!

The minute I told Crawford that there was snow outside, he ran to the window! He could not wait to go outside! This is the first real snow we have had since he was born. All of the others have not amounted to much! I could not get Crawford to come inside. He was kicking and screaming and I had to give him cookies to calm him down!!
Below are a few pictures of our day of fun!

Mommy, Daddy and Mimi pulling Crawford in our version of a sled!

Even Molly Loved the Snow!

Finally It Snowed!!

Here is the view we woke up to this morning! Yippe! We had a snow day and enjoyed every minute of it!!
